How to know what tyres to choose for your vehicle

When selecting car tyres, it is important to consider the driving and what conditions you will encounter. You need to choose an appropriate tyre for winter conditions if you live in an area with severe winters. There are two options to consider, mainly if you are looking for one set of tyres to use all year round or if you would consider a set of dedicated winter tyres. People often consider changing tyres if they live in an area where the winters are severe and therefore winter tyres are the safest option. Winter tyres are always the best option if you live in an area with severe winter weather with both a lot of snow and ice. Whether you choose studded or non-studded tyres, they both remain excellent options for superior grip and traction on snow and ice.

If you live in an area with a bit unpredictable winters and do not want to deal with the hassle of two sets of tyres, then you have the option to invest in some all-season tyres. There are some good quality all-season tyres on the market. Tyres like the Nokian Seasonproof provide absolute grip and excellent handling in all winter conditions. These tyres offer low rolling resistance, so you save on fuel without compromising on performance. They are stable and easy to control even at high speeds. Most importantly, they hold the 3 peak mountain snowflake 3PMSF-symbol indicating that the tyres have passed the stringent winter tests and are therefore rated for use in severe winter conditions.

Only using summer tyres in an option if you live in an area without winters. In comparison to all-season tyres, summer tyres do not hold the 3PMSF symbol and are therefore not recommended for use in winter weather. Generally, the area you live and drive in will determine the type of tyres that will be most suitable for you, as if you live in an area with severe winters and are not up for changing tyres between the seasons from summer into winter tyres in the winter, your only other option would be all-season tyres. It also needs to be considered what kind of car you drive as there are specific tyres recommended for hybrids and electric cars as well as for SUVs. Tyres like the Nokian Seasonproof SUV all-season tyres come recommended for SUVs with reliable winter grip and optimal all-season handling. To sum up, it is important to keep in mind what kind of driving you will be doing, where you live and what kind of car you drive to help choose the right tyres for your car. All-season tyres do have a lot of advantages and do provide good protection around the year and are a valuable asset for areas where the weather is unpredictable, and you will have difficulty to manage with two sets of tyres. Then this will be your best option.
