SundrenchedOceanWe had a wonderful time at the beach.  It was so wonderful to see Gilly and Jav, I was so used to family being around all the time that I didn't realize how much I would miss it!  Their plane was delayed for 10 hours getting to the island, so we stayed an extra day and it was worth getting a bit behind on work for!  I always a bit more centered after being on the ocean.

I'm still on vacation time, without work keeping me up all night and with so much to do, I switch schedules and get up much earlier than at home.  Luckily, Adam is the same way and last night we both fell asleep early and jumped out of bed this morning on the same schedule we've been on.  Perfect for me as I have already begun catching up on the piles of things I have to do today.

Do you adjust to a different schedule on vacation?

weheartotbeachI know, it's October.  Last year at this time I was in sweaters and boots frolicking in piles of leaves...well, I live in Texas now...and its over 90 degrees out today.  Perfect beach weather.  A month or so ago, my sister Gillian (the one in New York City) called to ask if she was remembering correctly that I went with Adam to South Padre Island to visit his parents this past June.  She was delighted that she was correct because her bf Jav had googled the best places to go in October and South Padre came up.  Random, yes...but only a 6 hour drive for me!

This weekend is the beginning of their week on South Padre,  so Adam and I have a dog sitter coming for Faye and are packing up the car and heading down to visit our families and frolic on the beach for a couple of days.  Yay!  What are you doing for the long weekend?

Finally! The last of the colour week posts...I had so much fun photographing the Spring edition in Austin.  Quite honestly, it was lucky that I was there that week as Milbrook is a bit slow to the start of spring this year.  I am already looking forward to the summer edition!

I was a bit scattered at the end of colour week.  I lost an entire day traveling and then had to jump right back into a super busy weekend and never got a chance to post the last two days...so I will now.

Lavender seemed to be not on my radar or non existent, what's up with that?? I did the best I could and here's what I came up with...my personal fav is the "shoestring" of bats across the sky, we were lucky enough to be in Austin at the right tome of year to see them, yay!

I of course had no problem spotting pink all over the place in Austin for Colour Week...my eye seems to be naturally drawn to the color!

I can't believe it's already time for the Spring Colours Week over at Poppytalk!!  I am in Austin, Texas right now, so I thought it would be fun to participate while exploring the city.  The first day was yesterday and the color was green.  As I was traveling most of the day, I have to catch up, but it was so much fun to snap photos with a color theme today!!

The next color for the week is Yellow...and have I found a lot of great yellow so far!!  Stop by tomorrow to see what I spied!

Well, I have actually been back for a few days, but have been so pumped and full of ideas that forgot to check in and say hi!

It was wonderful to relax and recharge and I went with my 3 roommates from college, so I had a week of the kind of discussions that you need extremely close friends and time in order to have. It was wonderful and made me think a bit about what I am looking forward to next!

There is so much going on right now and I have such an excessive amount of coffee that I can't really think straight...so I will just leave you with a lovely image of my trip...

The Destination

If you need me for the next week, you'll have to send smoke signals...only joking, I will of coarse be reachable by email...but it better be good.

All orders placed between January 8th and 15th will be shipped out Monday, January 18th.

I am off to spend a week on the beach in Cancun with my three roommates from college. Proof that you're never to old for Spring Break!

The dog has been dropped off, I have checked in online, all thats left to do is throw a few bikinis in a bag and wake up at an hour I am usually just going to bed so the car service can whisk me off to JFK...see you next week!

I went to visit my dad about a month ago and stayed down at our families camp...let me tell you, sleeping rather rustically and using an outhouse for two nights actually does a great deal to recharge you.  Especially when you don't have internet access for the three days you're away...I came home refueled and ready to conquer the world....well, the new website anyway...

In an attempt to bring a touch of calm back with me, I snapped a few shots from the porch the last night and the morning I left...in poured rain...sideways across the lake in fact,  that morning, I thankfully woke up to the thunder and shut all of the windows, but a grey, wet haze was still in the air...I wish I had thought to take a shot when the sun was out, but these images seem to be so serene that they do the job for me...

Now I just have to get myself in the car and drive myself there more then every five years...
