As per usual, I am obsessed with feminine, flowy fabric. I was thrilled to see a great amount of it appearing on the runways during NY Fashion Week, but more on that later. In my own studio, I have been working with vintage silk scarves for a few years now. In fact, I have a few pieces incorporating silk and chiffon coming out on Monday, but I have been inspired to keep going! I am working on my next collection for Spring '11 and it will go further with a new concept I have come up with to make statement necklaces that are comfortable to wear, adjustable to multiple lengths and available in a variety of prices. The luxe end will debut Monday, in time for Fall and the Holidays, but a broader range is in the works!!

I have been grappling with how often I release new products and realized that the perfect answer will in fact not come from me, but from you! I put out 2 cohesive collections a year, but always have other jewelry in the works as well. The problem is that I am stuck on figuring out what to do with all of this "other" jewelry. Please take a few seconds to help me out...if you want to add thoughts in the comments, I'd love to hear them!!
With great excitement, i give you today's final Sneak Peek at the Game Night Collection...why the final you ask? Because it DEBUT'S on MONDAY!!! If you are not already signed up for the mailing list, make sure you do so on the blog, or (join my list tab) page so you are one of the extra special first to know!!

I have read over and over again about how women are less inclined to help out one another then men are in business. There is more competition and spite between the ladies apparently. (side note, I am going to tease you by peppering my words with a few sneak peeks from the summer line, debuting on Monday, June 21st)
Sour Cherry Necklace
Being a jewelry designer, I am in a rather female focused world, the majority of my customers are women, and the men that shop at Manic Trout are buying for women. All of my employees, in my studio and by contract are all women. I read blogs primarily by women. So I feel pretty confident in assuring you that it was a man who declared this untruth.
Little Secrets Necklace
I was inspired to discuss this after an interaction which occurred a little bit ago...I was on twitter and saw one the tweeters I follow mentioned and suggested if we "liked" it, to include a link to our fan page. I wandered on over, loved her fan page...thought the concept of the business was pretty cool and liked how Stacy shared some tidbits about her personal self there, so I "liked it". Minutes later, Stacy had not only reciprocated the link, but tweeted and posted about Manic Trout. I felt that was beyond perfect in illustrating not only how much women care about their own businesses, their fellow business people and most importantly...being connectors!
Bright Side of Life Necklace
In the past few months, I have been referred to as a connector by a variety of people. I don't aim to be this person, I just naturally tend to do so and therefore have become intrigued about this subject in general...
Connectors are said by author to be people in a community who know large numbers of people and who are in the habit of making introductions. A connector is essentially the social equivalent of a computer network hub. Connectors usually know people across an array of social, cultural, professional, and economic circles, and make a habit of introducing people who work or live in different circles.
I have begun to recognized the many connectors among the women I am in contact with on a daily basis and how invaluable they have been to my life and business. Think about how many time you have been put in touch with others, or simply made aware of something perfect for you by a person who enjoys connecting people!
Hope for The Hopeless Necklace
Thank you ladies, for not only thinking of others but for proving that women do not have to be bitches to succeed in business!
