When I brought Faye out this morning I was greeted by warmer weather then we've had and snow melting all around me...I know its still early, but when I stumbled upon the Spring Colors photo on Etsy I started to get that itch...the "I am so sick of ice and snow, bring me blossoming trees now!" feeling. If it stays warm out, Shanley and I are taking Faye for a walk this afternoon, yay!

Spring Colors by Lisa Burch (which I am ordering in notecards, and so excited about...as I LOVE notecards!)

They are both in this weeks Life & Style! Thats right people, the Feb 16th issue of the weekly gossip mag you always see in check out lines and waiting rooms features the Florica Sweetest Thing Earrings, yay!

It is with a very heavy heart that I report that Domino Magazine, one of my absolute favs will put out its last issue in March. What is causing all the great ones to fold? Is it blogs, is the fact that we can now read about the latest in design and style as it happens putting the glossies out of business? I also have a feeling that the economy and housing market crash are big reasons as well. I have read a huge stack of monthlies for as long as I can remember and there are starting to be less and less that I love on the newsstands. Looking into what has or is folding, I am also becoming concerned on a PR level...what is going on here???? To illustrate my point, I am including a list of magazines in the recent past that I have either subscribed to and/or have had my jewelry in:

Domino
Teen
Country Home
Cottage Living
InStyle Home
O at Home
Cosmo Girl
Elle Girl
Blueprint
Jane
Budget Living
House & Garden

this is depressing...but at least you get my point...

Its been an average day here in the studio, a new admirer of Manic Trout came by to shop, I filled a bunch of orders and puttered around the studio a bit...I then made the stupid mistake of walking instead of driving to the PO, and upon my return I have been sitting at my desk with Faye on my lap browsing blogs and trying to loose the chill.

During this time, I received an email from Design for Mankind (which is a fantastic blog that I have been reading and admiring for awhile now) that Manic Trout was mentioned in the Blog today...but that was an understatement...because Manic Trout is in the incredibly awesome monthly publication called Mankind Mag, which I think you should run on over and download asap...its smart, creative and right on point of what I want to see and read!  I am so honored that I am giddy right now, thank you!!!!

I am loving these Sofia Sanchez & Mauro Mongiello photos...brilliant!

So I set out on a mission today...it was time to stop dicking around and get the new line done...enough was enough!!!  So I spent the afternoon attempting to produce something wearable at the very least, when I decide to take a break to work out, eat dinner, drink some caffeinated tea and shower...I admit there was a good amount of candy hearts (I am ALL about seasonal candy btw) consumed...but wow have I had a good night!  Two necklaces I am proud of...one I actually adore and a new line of earrings that I think I love...but are they over the top or awesome? (I mean that, please comment with opinions).

They are brass with green metallic glass and are 5" long and light as air in the ears...I find this last part very important!

Just wanted to pause and share...back to work!

I keep talking all this smack about designing new jewelry and you're all, sure Sierra...we'll believe it we when we see it...so I'll give you a little peek at the growing pile...I have already added 4 new button rings since I snapped this earlier today...and I have ordered all that needs to be ordered to create them in bunches...so they will be available very soon my little pretties, I promise!!!

I have a thing for photography...which if you are a regular reader here, you a well aware of this thing, which kind of borders on an obsession, but whatever...anyway...I have been accumulating prints again and hung up a bunch of them last night, yay!  I am also pleased to say that I eyeballed the hanging of all of these prints...and I really like how close they are together, so I am going to rearrange the wall at the end of the bed too...I'll show you when its done...the frames are back ordered.

I am also noticing that my bed has become a bit pillow crazed...oh my...new pillows this year mean more fluff and my bed is starting to look out of a Victorian novel...how did that happen????
